Just got back from a trip to Florida to see my in-laws. We drove so I had alot of time to think back on 2009 and visulaize 2010.

CAME UP WITH 2 BIG IDEAS FOR YOU…

First- I want to finish off on the last post SHOULD YOU and A FORMULA

PRINT THIS OUT NOW !

Today is a great day to reflect on the previous year and PLAN out next year.
So here’s HOW TO PLAN

start by setting your goal… Income as well as personal.

Could be losing weight – could be income – could be spending more time with family- You know them better than me.

Now write them down.. It has been proven that writing it down enhances your chance of achieving them.

NEXT- plan how you will do it….
This is the missing piece of the puzzle for most people. They write the goal but rarely think through and plan out how they will achieve it. My job is to make sure that doesn’t happen to you.

IF IT’S A PERSONAL GOAL- think it through- If it’s spending more time with family than block those days in your planner NOW! In my case I block out every Monday and Friday  for long weekends for the whole year. Even if I don;t take them they are now available to me.

FOR INCOME- figure out what you want to make than plan out what needs to be done to get there.
EXAMPLE
If I want to make 100,000 and I sell a 2000 dollar “thing or service” that means I need to sell 60 of them..
YES– I KNOW THE MATH IS WRONG.. it should really be 50 not 60 but remember some things will be returned and some deals will fall thru.

NOW BREAK IT DOWN INTO A MONTHLY GOAL- so now we know we need to sell 5 units a month — slightly more than 1 a week.

HERE COMES THE HARD PART- to whom will you sell them and how will you attract those sales.. ( I’ll save that for another post)

Once a month you should check these stats to see if you are on track.
Did you make enough sales.
Which group bought>? Which did not?
What tactics worked? Which did not?

Now- don’t be tempted to say yes– that’s a great idea and move on.. DO IT!!!While it’s on your mind.. yes– right now– I’ll wait !

It really will be a game changer for you and might be that 1 BIG IDEA that allows you to finally get what you want.

In fact– before I move on– and now that you have it all written down take a second to think about what you do all day— and if it is CONSISTENT or INCONSISTENT with your written goals..

Are you going thru the McDonalds drive thru while hoping to lose 10 pounds.. ?

BIG IDEA # 2
I mentioned in the beginning of this post that I drove to Florida. On the way I saw 19 signs for South of The Border. For those of you who have never seen it well it’s hard to explain but basically think about the tackiest truck stop you have ever seen and you’ll come close.

But here’s the lesson– Starting at 183 miles from this place you start to see signs. All with different messages and hooks.. all trying to get you to stop. Some appealing to adults- some appealing to kids.

LESSON: Never stop at one marketing message and never have just one theme – You just never know what hot button will get you the sale — so use them all and use them all the time!!!!
