WHAT A MESS….

During this time of year when things usually slow down I often take some time to just clean things up.. .

The e-mails I meant to open but never got around to.

The books that are half read or still in the amazon box

The newsletters I just never finished digesting sitting in a pile..

Don’t get me wrong- I consume a ton of information on topics like salesmanship,marketing off line and on-line , persuasion etc.

CAN YOU RELATE?

Education is critical to growth which is critical to the bottom line of earnings !

I made a Resolution to myself this year to find a way of digesting only the “Good MEATY  THINGS I NEED TO KNOW” instead of all the time most articles,videos, courses waste  just getting to the point..

Sort of like just eating the food without spending the hours preparing and cleaning up. Guess what we want is efficiency and effectiveness..

You know — Just get to the point- Tell me what I need to know and let’s get started doing it..

Wealth Creator #3 Pay Forward

This post is a bit long but stay with me because there is a very important lesson you can profit from here. Both financially and spiritually. OK?

A few days ago I had to go back to the pharmacy to grab some more medicine for my mom ( see the last profit killer post for the details if you missed it.) It was pouring out and a generally gross day. I rushed in at the same time as another guy who had just parked next to me.

We both headed over to the pharmacy window but I went to the other end of the line not realizing that it was the pick up window.. not the drop off window.. DUH !!!!

By the time I realized it several other people jumped behind this guy. Once I saw what was happening I got behind the last person in line and was prepared to wait.

THE GUY IN FRONT SAW WHAT ….just happened and asked me if I wanted to go ahead of him since technically I really was supposed to be the first person in line. Even though I was in a hurry I told him “NO Rush. Go Ahead Thanks” 

The lady right in front of me with her daughter who appeared to be about 15 or 16. She turned around to her daughter and said “He Just paid forward.”

This poor kid had no idea what her mom was talking about. So I took some time while we were all waiting to give her a short explanation.

I EXPLAINED THAT … most people are just focused on themselves and their own issues. This area of town is particularly affluent and the people are pretty arrogant and rude. So what I did really stood out since it rarely happens.

I allowed the other guy to go first even though I was in a hurry and could have justified it. But I paid forward. I allowed a nice thing to happen and realized that somehow it will come back to me. I don’t know how? I don’t know when? I don’t know where?

THIS HAPPENS FOR GOOD AND BAD THINGS YOU DO…

Guess you first need to believe that whatever goes around comes around. GOOD AND BAD. I know it sounds all “foofy” and “new agesish” but It is true. Sort of like my favorite tv show right now which is “Earl”   watch it you’ll understand this whole idea better.

WHICH BRINGS ME TO YOU …. I know this all sounds good but how do you apply it. First you genuinely need to give without EVER expecting anything in return. NO ALTERIOR MOTIVES.

For example - I give to many worthwhile charities and I do so usually anonymously. I have given when I can least afford to. In fact my accountant tells me that I give a disproportinate amount of my income to charity and that it could trigger an IRS audit.

My response was” Who cares. First of all i DID give the money. Second and maybe more importantly I did NOT give it for a tax write off. I did it because I thought it was worthwhile to do.”

LET ME SHARE A FUNNY BUT TRUE STORY .. I love going to Atlantic City and while there I enjoy taking a walk on the boardwalk. It is often like a freak show of preformers and beggers. One night a beggar came up to my wife and I with a sign.

It said that he was deaf and wanted some money. I gave him a dollar and my wife, who is trained in working with deaf and blind people started signing to him. He clearly had no idea what to do so he just turned around and left. 

MY WIFE SCREAMED AT ME AND CALLED ME A … a big sucker. She’s right. He was clearly faking but my feeling has always been if I gave out 10  one dollar bills to 10 different beggars and was right just one time , to a person who really needed it than I was happy.

We walked a little further down the boardwalk and saw a guy on a stretcher , no arms or legs , with a bucket on his stretcher. I asked my wife “think he’s faking too?” To which she just snickered at me and pushed me.. BTW… I gave him a $10.

SO WHAT DOES ALL THIS MEAN TO YOU?? AND HOW CAN YOU PROFIT FROM IT?

FIRST- Do good deeds and you will be rewarded.. somehow … some where… This is actually one of the PHENOMENON(tm) TRIGGERS ( info at www.brian.in12months.com)

SECOND- You must genuinely care about your prospects and customers or you WILL NOT succeed. One of the reasons I created profit and wealth and give away 2 must have classics and write these posts is so you will be exposed to ideas that work and will profit from them.

If all you are trying to do is make a fast buck you will NOT last long and most likely will not keep that money you do make very long. Look at most industries and fads and you will find people who get in for a quick buck, not to help anyone and not because they even care if what they are selling works or not…

YEAH YEAH @ I KNOW WE ARE ALL capitalists and all that buyer beware stuff. But look around. If you are a Realtor or Loan Officer than you have just seen all the get rich quick people leave and all the serious career minded people who do care stick around.

Start paying forward with charity and information. BIG IDEA- make all of your marketing pieces useful and helpful not just sales pitches. Make your inperson or phone appointments all about helping your customers and giving good , useful, information and you will quickly see your profits jump.

YOU CAN”T FAKE IT ! most people have great BS detectors. Be real. BE Genuine. ReallY Care and make sure that you are paying forward.

WEALTH CREATOR #2- WHY DO HORSES WEAR BLINDERS?

Sounds kinda strange for a title but let me explain. Have you been wondering what to do to make that dream come true. I used to always be searching for the “next thing” that would make me rich and finally get rid of the all the things I hated about my job.

THE PROBLEM WITH JUMPING AROUND IS… that you never work on any one business , project, or idea , long enough to see positive results. Starting any new business or project is always tough. RARELY do you just jump out of the gate and start seeing the money or lifestyle you want from it..

SO YOU JUST JUMP ON TO THE “THE NEXT THING” and you start the cycle of disappointment all over again. For me it was frustration as a mortgage banker with low earnings and hours that would make Superman feel burnt out.

I was always on the lookout for the next get rich … quick “THING”  Trust me- I tried them all but failed over and over again. You know that makes you feel like you are just a “loser”

BUT THE TRUTH IS THAT THE REAL SUCCESS IS…. usually right around the corner. It is right there in that next step right before you give up.

Look around… People have become millionaires in every single type of business, selling every type of product or service.  AND IN GOOD AND BAD ECONOMIES ….So why not you?

THE KEY LIES IN  RACE HORSES…. No - I am not suggesting that you go out and bet on the horses. But look at a horse race and you will see that some of the horses are wearing blinders. WHY? So they don’t get distracted. So they don’t get scared.

There’s alot to learn from this. If you have a real plan for a real business than put your own blinders on  and get to work.

Don’t worry if anyone tells you that it won’t work. Don’t listen when people ( even family) tell you all the reasons it won’t/can’t work. They are just scared.

As a subscriber I assume you have already downloaded and read Think and Grow Rich. ( www.profitandwealth.com/free) In that classic Napoleon Hill says “Whatever you can conceive, and believe,  you can achieve. ” Of course he is right– But if you give up every time you get frustrated you will never succeed.

Let me just tell you one more thing before we wrap this up… You need physical and mental “blinders” That means you must be mentally immune from that negative feedback and focused on nothing but getting where you want to be. But you must also be physically immune.

That may mean working on your “business” away from the distractions of a “crackberry” ( my affectionate term for all you blackberry addicts) , phone calls, people interrupting you , e-mails every second etc. Put those physical blinders on - go to a Starbucks or somewhere you can just be alone and work , plan and think.

WEALTH CREATION MAGNET #1- MONEY FOCUSED

Due To the “meltdown” I have decided to send you a “Wealth Creation Magnet” once a week . This week let’s talk about VISUAL /SUBCONSIOUS tricks you can use to stay “Money Focused”

What I mean by that is having money symbols all around you. While you may not be focusing on them on a consious level , your subconsious will be.

IN MY OFFICE I HAVE THE FOLLOWING MONEY FOCUS OBJECTS: You Should Too…

1. On my computer at home and in my office I have a million dollar bill.

2. In my office I have a mini matchbox Bentley GT Convertible mounted on my desktop monitor. That is my dream car , just haven’t gotten up the balls to get one yet.

3. A Picture of the Bentley on the wall facing me — in the color and interior I want

4. A picture of the town I want my Condo in and a picture of the building.

5. My Clock is a NO-BS Time management clock that was given to me by Dan Kennedy and Bill Glazer. They are the mentors I have learned my time management skills from.  (www.whatIused.com)

THE KEY IS TO SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PHOTOS OR REMINDERS OF THINGS YOU WANT

One day I will probably do a whole seminar just on this topic but for now start putting up objects/reminders/photos of the things you are dreaming about and they will soon come true.

SOUNDS A LITTLE HOKEY I KNOW… I’m Not really into all that FUFU /FEEL GOOD STUFF but this works.

It reminds me of when I was first starting out. I read a bunch of books like Think and Grow Rich and a ton of other self help stuff. I forget which book it was but in this book they suggested posting your goals where you could see them all the time.

Well, I took that literally. Mind you I was pretty broke at the time and generally not feeling too good about my future. At the time I was a new loan officer and I felt if I could just do a million a month I would be “rich” ( btw- that equates to about 5-6000 per month)

Sounded good but at the time I was only earning about 2500-3000 and working like an animal 7 days a week.

So I put this sticker with 1million on my car dashboard, on the wall in front of me in my cubicle and on my mirror at home. My wife thought I was finally over the deep end because of all the stress. Not only did it look hokey but having that sticker on the dashboard was incredibly tacky to her.

BUT GUESS WHAT ???

In the first 9 months I accomplished that million dollars in closing and did so for the next 4 or 5 months.

So I thought it was time to raise the bar and changed those 3 stickers to 2million. To me at that time the number was near impossible. BUT again- Within 9 or 10 months I was closing 2 million a month.

I think seeing those stickers worked on my subconsious in positive ways. When I was tired and wanted to go chill out– it helped me push forward. When I hit a bump- It helped me get over it.

I know this all sounds hokey  and cheesey to you but try it anyway. Nothing will happen immediately but over 6 -12 months you will start seeing those goals come into focus and you will accomplish them.

8 or More Things You Can Learn From An NFL Game

This article is going to be jam packed with info so you might want to print it out. Almost like a little marketing seminar for you.Late Saturday night one of my son’s friends Dad called and asked if we wanted tickets to the Ravens game.

We didn’t really need to think about it since this was the Ravens VERSUS the Browns. For those of you who aren’t football fans here’s the story- Baltimore was famous for having the Baltimore Colts. Many years ago the owner moved the team to Indianappolis in the middle of the night.

So of course we went on a hunt for a team and “took” the team from Cleveland. So this was a grudge match game. Now here is where you need to pay attention. As I sat at this game I couldn’t help but think of all the marketing lessons that were right in front of me and I couldn’t wait to back home and share them with you so you could start profiting from them.

LESSON # 1– RECIPROCITY
The seats to this game were amazing- 50 yard line row 10 from the field. AND a parking pass that allowed me to park right in front of the stadium. Needless to say this was awsome and my 11 year old was in heaven. But all I could think of was these tickets that cost 110.00 a piece. I owe this guy big time.

See if you ever want to have someone indebted to you give them a present. Doesn’t matter how expensive it is. In fact they don’t even have to like it. I personally would have preferred to stay home and watch the game without pushing thru 71,000 raving fans ( way too many drunks). If this Dad ever needs us to pick up his kid from school or watch him when he doesn’t have a babysitter I now have no choice but to say yes.

This is the same concept charities use when they send you a gift , like those personalized labels or holiday cards etc in the mail along with a form to send in your donation.
If you want to use this prinicipal give your clients, prospects, customers something so they can be indebted to you.

LESSON #2 - CREATE LEVELS IN YOUR BUSINESS
One of the things all major league teams do well is separate the services to the cheaper ticket holder versus those with expensive seats or boxes. This is a great marketing tactic that you should start employing in your business. Most of us spend way too much time with our “cheap” or lower tier clients or prospects when the real money is spending your efforts on your best prospects and clients who produce the majority of your income and profits….

LESSON # 3-MENTAL PRACTICE
We got to the game a little early, guess that’s because we had such a great parking space , so we were able to see both teams practice before the game. Both teams were on the field exercising and running plays. Then I looked to the side and saw the kicker. He was practicing but without a football in his hand . He was looking at the goal posts and kicking air…

What he was really doing is something that you need to do too. See he was mentally kicking. He was practicing in his head. He was visualizing.

The lesson here is that all succesful people in any field always mentally rehearse. So STOP right now and block some times in your planner to do some mentall rehearsing. Practice your sales calls. Listen to your prospects objections and answer them. Watch your prospects reactions. LESSON # 4- THE RAVENS NEW QUARTERBACK JOE FLACCO — THE MINDSET

Many in the stadium were rooting for our new rookie quarterback Joe Flacco. A good quarterback is something this team has been missing for many many years. This was this guys second game in the NFL. He started off doing great but then he got intercepted and the other team used this opportunity to score and take the lead. Then with the Ravens on the 1 yard line ready to score he boblled the ball and almost turned it over again.

This happens to you every day. Nothing ever goes the way we planned it. Roadblocks pop up. Business plans don’t work out. The difference between success and failure is how you recover from those setbacks. This guy picked himself up and went on to play his game on his terms and we beat Cleveland 28 to 10.

Think of what would have happend if he just collapsed mentally becuase of all the pressure and problems? Instead , he left those plays behind him and continued on to success.. You need to do exactly the same.

LESSON # 5 — RAVING FANS

There were 71,209 people screaming and hollering at the game yesterday. Every seat in the house was taken. Guy in front of me was totally bold and had the Raven Logo tattoed on his head. ( BTW– could be a great business.. selling ad space on those heads…)

These fans were buying Ravens jerseys , hats , calendars , trailer hitches etc.etc. You name in and if it had Ravens on it they were buying it. So the question is do you have raving fans? Do your customers rave about you? If not start figuring out how to get them talking about you and telling everyone in their sphere of influence about you..

LESSON #6 BRAND ADVERTISING
All around this stadium were signs for various businesses. They also gave out programs that were jam packed with ads. Problem is that most of these ads were NOT targeted but just meant to “brand” the companies so alot of it was wasted on people who had no use for these services.

Don’t get me wrong- The Budweiser signs were a great fit. But the RYLAND HOMES sign , which I assume cost the same amount of money probably wasn’t. I doubt there were 5000 out of those 71000 who were going to be buying a home in the next 12 months.

LESSON # 7– LASER TARGETED ADS
Right before half time I went to the bathroom. CHAOS>>> Lots of drunk guys pushing and shoving and of course hollering at the top of their lungs. But right above the stalls is a sign for a medical group called Chesapeake Urology- Their sign asks if you are having trouble with frequent urination.. erections etc.. and tells you to visit their site.

Now that sign is laser targeted… Guys in the bathroom , relieving themselves.
Are your ads targeted to your prospects so that you are getting the most bang for your marketing dollars?
EXAMPLE– If you are a realtor or loan officer or title company — even an accountant or insurance agent.. Why not advertise in a HOMES MAGZINE instead of your towns’ newspaper.
You know anyone picking up a homes magazine is thinking about buying a home , but only a small fraction of those reading the main newspaper in town are in need of your services.

LESSON # 8 YOUR TEAM…
You are only as good as your team. Whether in sports or in business you need to make sure that you have a staff that is motivated to cover your butt.. Imagine if the Ravens offensive line just let the other team get by and sack the quarterback..

You are the quarterback on your team so make sure everyone is motivated to cover your back and all working towards accomplishing the same goal… Hopefully the one you set.

LESSON # 9– GO TO GUY

This rookie quarterback , Joe Flacco , had 2 or 3 go to guys for most of the game. Some ran the ball some he passed to..

Are you the go to guy for your customers? This gets back to what I have always preached which is pick a niche , become the expert, and let everyone know about it.

You need to be seen as the “GO TO PERSON” in your industry. PERIOD !!!!!

LESSON # 10– YOUR PLAY BOOK

Ok- Let’s wrap this up with this lesson. What does your play book look like? Do you have more than one way to move the ball downfield? ( get new business)
Imagine a quarterback only having one play and his go to guy gets hurt? With only 1 play in the quarterbacks playbook the other team would just learn how to defend against it and the game would be over.

Start building your own playbook.. YOU MUST HAVE MULTIPLE WAYS TO GENERATE NEW BUSINESS.. CONSISTENTLY…

A PRAYER and An Opportunity– Hurricane IKE

Every tv station is showing the devastation from Hurricane Ike and I would like to take a moment to send out my own prayers… One of my Platinum Coaching members is right in East Texas and many readers of this blog as well as clients of mine are in the area…

Our thoughts are with them and we should all pray for them to be safe and get on their feet quickly.

NOW FOR THE OPPORTUNITY
There are really 2 opportunities here.
First- Contribute to the relief effort — It is the right thing to do and will make you feel good. I personally believe that when you give… I mean really GIVE without the expectation of getting anything in return. When you do — it comes back to yo u many times over…
So do good because its the right thing to do … and you will see it come around..

Second– This is also an opportunity for you to bring in more business. WHY? HOW?
Well why not for the next week give a % of your profits to a specific charity that helps people like the Red Cross or Salvation Army– there are others…

Go to your local papers and tv and radio and announce it .. Tell all of your prospects and tell all of your past clients.. For one– it is a GREAT reason to contact them and you know that you don’t do that enough …

Next — it is a way to get others to help out and do a good deed. I want to be clear here so there are no misunderstandings…
I AM NOT TELLING YOU TO EXPLOIT THE SITUATION>…
There are scumbags who exploit these situations.. they crawl out from under their rock.. and believe me it will come around to get them too just like it comes around when you do a good deed.

THere is nothing wrong with you doing the right thing AND get some good PR for yoru business.

So go ahead- put your plan together right now and let everyone know..

LABOR DAY???

Labor day is coming up in a few days and it got me thinking about all the #)$(&#) that we are told. I was always taught work hard and you will get ahead. Man did I work hard. In fact I’ve been working full time since I was 14 years old and went to work at Baskin Robins scooping ice cream.

Just yesterday I had a consultation with one of my clients who was telling me that he was looking for ways to get passive income so he wouldn’t have to work so hard. So today I thought I would share some secrets I have learned..

Most people who want to sell you a program or “scheme” tell you how whatever they are selling you will make you rich quickly and how easy that is.  I’m here to tell you that is just pure BULL- sh-it.

There is no such thing.

What I have found is that there are businesses that can make you wealthy but all require work. Most people waste their hard earned money and time going from one pie in the sky scheme to another… They never dig deep on any one project.. They are always on to the next thing before they even give the first project a chance.

SO HERE ARE SOME SECRETS TO KEEP IN MIND

1. You want to find a business where you can do the work ONE TIME and have it produce income for you for years to come.

2. You want to have a business that provides you with continuity income.  Like an insurance agent who gets renewals, or a gym or magazine that gets subscription each and every month. In my previous business I wrote a newsletter and had hundreds of paid subscribers. Each and every month I woke up and knew I had money coming in… What a great feeling that is !

3. You want  a business that is “saleable” and continuity income is usually what a business buyer is looking for since it is close to a predicatble income stream each and every month. Wouldn’t you like to own your local cable , phone, gas and electric company? Each and every month they are getting paid…

One of the greatest things in the world is to be able to go away and know that you have income coming in.

YOU MUST WORK HARD ! But you must also work smart and have a business that will throw off income continuously. Many scoundrels are out there telling you just do this or that and you will become rich.. Trust me, I have tried most of them and they are NOT real..

The Secrets Of Bejing Olympic Athletes- Use This In Your Business

You can’t help watching the OIympics. I spent most of the morning watching USA basketball, swimming , volleyball and bike races. We have 2 famous swimmers from Baltimore Michael Phelps and a girl named Katie Hoff and they are the talk of the town.

Watching these Athletes got me thinking and so here I am in front of the computer wanting to share it with you. So Listen up. There is much more to the Olympics than just watching the Athletes. There are numerous marketing lessons …. Watch the new commercials, Watch what the athletes are wearing…

Hey - before I give you the lesson I wanted to GIVE YOU A MILLION DOLLAR IDEA (ok?)

One of the things you should be on the lookout for at all times is how to tie your product or service into the news or current affairs. Guess you want some examples of what I’m talking about huh?

– If you are selling a product why not tie your discounts into the amount of gold medals won by your countries athletes ?  ( this blog is read by thousands around the world so I don’t want to seem to biased … but yes I want the USA to win the most.) So if  USA wins 10 medals you get 10% off etc.

— Offer an Olympic sized _________________?

- If you offer a service you can do the same thing… Each day the USA wins ______medals — gold , silver or bronze you offer new clients _____________% off your service

OR — Whether you are offering a product or service you could tie in a % of proceeds from your sales during that week to a charity tied to the Olympics. The bottom line here is to get publicity for your promotion and tie it into the current events that are already on your customer or prospects minds.
Right now that is the Olympics .. Next month it could be your home teams acheivements. Or even their lack of success. If they stink create a promotion that gives your customers or clients something when your team breaks their streak and wins.
WHY NOT GO ONE BETTER ?

Get someone from the team or a retired player or sportscaster to be in the promo with you? This use of celebrity can be very very powerful and profitable and very inexpensive or even free.

 

NOW BACK TO WHY I WROTE THIS POST IN THE FIRST PLACE

Guess I needed to get that million dollar piece off my chest.. I hope you use it. But that is not why I started writing this post. I wanted to share with you what you can learn from these Olympic Athletes in Bejing.  Now I’m going to have to burst your bubble here so prepare yourself. I’ll give you a minute to digest.. Ready?

Watching these athletes compete it seems like what they are doing is almost effortless. KEY WORD HERE IS “SEEMS.” But the reality is that these Olympians are up at 4 or 5 every single morning. No excuses. Nothing gets in their way. They are never distracted.

- They are focused on achieving their goals. PERIOD.

- ( here is the bubble bursting sentence) THEY WORK HARD. REALLY REALLY HARD. Don’t be fooled into thinking there is a way to make “easy money”. You can make money quickly, you can make money regardless of your current or past situation or even your lack of resources. BUT YOU MUST WORK HARD. At least at first. If you are smart you do the hard work once and find ways to get paid for it over and over again for many many years. — Most of us are always looking for the next BIG THING to help us change our situation. But reality is that focused energy on one project is where the real big money is.. I’m guilty of this myself due to my Entrepenurial ADHD but luckily I am able to quickly realize it and get back on track.

- THEY ARE NOT AFRAID TO FAIL…. Most of us don’t even try so we are automatic failures. These Athletes work hard , every single day, with focused energy and concentration , and they might not win. Are you able to try something and fail?  When you do fail you must just pick yourself up and move on . Make lemonade out of the lemons. Most of these Athletes , if they lose , will still make a lot of money using the skills they aquired by becoming top coaches and trainers. Even the losers are still celebrities in theri countries and can use that celebrity for endoresements etc.

So there  you have it… A BIG MILLION DOLLAR IDEA to grow your profits and some key lessons to think about as you watch the BEJING OLYMPICS…..

Why Do Horses Wear Blinders?

I just returned from a great seminar given by Brock Felt and Buck Rizvi who are 2 really great marketers and have created a step by step program for anyone interested in getting into the supplement business. On the second night they had a networking dinner which I attended. At this dinner I sat with a great young couple from California who were fairly new to marketing in general but seemed very ambitious.

But as I have learned thru the years ambition is just not enough.. It is often very close to dreaming. They were there gathering information and listening to anyone willing to give them advice…

A FEW MAJOR PROBLEMS

The first problem with getting advice is that you MUST BE CAREFUL who you are getting that advice from. If for example you wanted to earn 100,000 dollars you should NOT be taking advice from someone earning 50,000. Sounds simple huh? Now try it… Assess the person BEFORE you accept the advice

Second issue was that they were clearly getting overwhelmed.. They had that “deer in the headlights” look. If you have ever driven down a road and seen a deer in the middle of the road just staring at you than you know what they looked like….

Everyone wants to just plug in and copy.. We are all looking for that “magic pill” that will make us all the money we could ever need without any effort or hard work on our part… Well there definitely ARE shortcuts, but you must also realize that there are also mulitple ways to “get there”

I told this young couple to look out the window. Our hotel was “in” the airport in Orlando. On the runway you could see about 10 different airlines all coming from different places and all having landed safely in Orlando… BIG IDEA– there is more than one way to get “there” —Just find the quickest most efficient way for YOU

See they were so overwhelmed that I was afraid they were very close to contracting “analysis paralysis” they would be so busy processessing everything they just learned that they would be paralyzed and do nothing at all…

SO WHAT DOES ALL THIS HAVE TO DO WITH HORSES?

Glad you asked.. Ever watch a horse race and see a horse wearing blinders? Often the horse with the blinders on is also the one who comes in the top 3 of that race. The blinders are put on the horse so it doesn’t get distracted.. Take it from me– an ADHD … you must not allow yourself to get distracted.

BOTTOM LINE here is that you should just focus on getting one step done each day. Don’t even worry if you mess it up…you can always correct it BUT YOU MUST ALWAYS CONTINUE TO MOVE FORWARD.
I often asked why I succeeded even though I barely graduated high school and had no special advantages…
The answer is I IMPLEMENTED and just “failed my way FORWARD”
SMALL CONSTANT STEPS — WITHOUT DISTRACTION — will allow you to get “there” too…

Are You Too Smart?

Today I am off to a seminar in Orlando and it made me think about how some people ( usually the unsuccessful ones) think they know everything and don’t invest in their education. Really smart and successful people always seem to invest in their education ….They are looking for that “slight edge”

Often times I attend a 2 or 3 day event and only get 1 good idea. Now lets say I earn 1,000,000 per year and this little item I learned gives me a 10% increase in income when I implement it. And lets also say this event cost me 5000 to attend.  The math is really simple- I earn an extra 100,000 for my 5000 investment

Let’s just say I get a 1% increase- that is still 10,000 for a 5000 investment. This is what I mean by that slight edge…

Let me rattle off some excuses here and see which ones have passed thru your mind.

1. Can’t afford to go

2. I already know all that

3.Can’t take the time

4. Can’t afford the registration

5. They are all full of #*&$%

The most vaild of all of these excuses is probably # 5.. so you owe it to yourself to ONLY Listen to real experts instead of “pretend ones”  When I was learning the information marketing business I “invested” in attending seminars given by Dan Kennedy and went on to build several multi-million dollar on -line and off-line businesses..

Could I afford it - NO   —- Could I afford the air and hotel– NO

Could I afford NOT TO GO — again a resounding NO .. See I felt that this information would help me get where I wanted to be fastest.. I not only attended the Dan Kennedy events but I also went on to buy each and every program he offered. 

Then I was lucky enough to take another major shortcut and have the benefit or being mentored by Bill Glazer and went on to invest in all of his programs. Here they are if you want to check them out—-

At the time I was over 43,000 in debt just in credit cards and my future as a loan officer and mortgage company owner was not looking too bright. So why would I incur more debt? The answer is simply that in my mind I was already in trouble and close to bankruptcy.. So what’s the difference… My feeling was that if I am going down I am at least going to have a shot at turning things around.

And that is exactly what this information did for me… It turned everything around.

So if you have a chance to get knowledge , coaching , programs etc. from people you have checked out and know are “true” gurus than go for it.. Your bank account and family will thank you just like mine has.
